A photo of a smiling Barack Obama hugging his wife Michelle has gone viral on Facebook and Twitter. Obama had tweeted the photograph on November 6 with the caption "Four more years" after the election results had come out.
In the photograph, Obama can be seen holding Michelle, who is seen wearing a simple red and white check dress with a blue waist band, in a bear hug.
The photograph has set a Facebook and Twitter record. More than 2.1 million people have liked it on Facebook and a similar number of retweets and favourites on Twitter, it has become one of the most iconic photographs of the US Presidential Elections 2012.
On November 7, Facebook announced, "With more than 2.1 million likes, this Barack Obama photo is the most-liked Facebook photo of all time."
Interestingly, the picture that has defined the election, was taken in August in Iowa, at a time when Obama seemed to lack the necessary spark to win the elections for a second term in the Oval Office.
